Treatment
Your initial session with a clinician at Cactus Heart Counseling will focus on understanding your current concerns, symptoms, relevant family history, and life circumstances. This session will also begin the therapeutic relationship and support the development of an individualized treatment plan, including appropriate clinical recommendations.
Participation in counseling is voluntary. You may choose to discontinue services at any time and for any reason. If your clinician determines that Cactus Heart Counseling cannot provide the level or type of care needed, they may discuss alternative treatment options and provide appropriate referrals.

Counseling Services for Minors
We Provide in-person Psychotherapyand Telehealth Services
Cactus Heart Counseling provides in-person psychotherapy services to minors beginning at age 5 and telehealth services beginning at age 10.
For telehealth appointments, a parent or legal guardian must be present or available as required until the minor reaches age 16.
When parents or guardians share legal custody, written consent from both parties may be required before psychotherapy services begin. Custody documents may also be requested to confirm who has legal authority to consent to treatment.
Parents and legal guardians generally have legal rights to information regarding a minor's treatment, subject to applicable laws and court orders. At the same time, a reasonable level of privacy can help a child or adolescent develop trust and participate openly in counseling. Cactus Heart Counseling encourages parents and guardians to respect this therapeutic privacy whenever appropriate.
The clinician will communicate with parents or guardians regarding significant safety concerns, treatment needs, or other matters when disclosure is clinically appropriate or legally required.
